Success at the Regionals

This weekend past I spent at the PSNZ Central Regional Convention.  It was a very full weekend with lots to see, lots to learn, lots to experience and lots of people to reconnect with.  I enjoyed it a lot!  I only entered digital images this year into both Central and Southern Salons due to time constraints. I arrived at the Central Convention to find out I had the Champion Nature Projected Image (See first image in this post) with my kingfisher and crab, and received the Bruce Harding Cup.  This is the second time I have won this cup now, having also won it in 2013.I also received a Merit in the Open Projected Image category with my compilation image of a kingfisher in flight (second image). This was four frames in a burst put together to show the path of the bird. I haven’t played with this type of processing much so am pretty happy with the outcome. While I was at the Central Convention I received the results for the Southern Salon – the convention is October 13th – 15th but the Salon results are out now.  The same image that took the Champion at Central received Honours at Southern (first image in this post).  I also received two acceptances from the other images I entered (third and fourth images).  A successful outcome overall and enough to make me regret not entering prints too.
