Shagged

Even though I was out looking for kingfishers yesterday, I always look to see what other photographic opportunities are around.  While playing the hide and seek game with the kingfisher I noticed a couple of shags.

First was a little shag that was busy fishing in the water below me. It wasn’t very successful while I was watching but I did get to see it take a quick bath before jumping out of the water up onto a driftwood branch.  I was amused to see it hop from that branch to a rock just a few minutes later looking for a more comfortable place to dry out.

There are usually a lot of shags at this small point by the boatsheds but today there was only the two and not at the same time.  The second one was a black shag.  He sat there for a few minutes while I clicked away at the shutter and then he was gone.
