I went on a wildlife (specifically bird) tour while I was in Brisbane and was shown many different species of Australian birds. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable on the subject and could almost name every bird by their call alone which I found impressive. I am not overly fond of many of the images I shot while on the tour as they were not up to my normal standard. Time and circumstance didn’t really work to get me in the right head space for photography.
Getting used to different lighting situations and coping with bright sunlight and dense bush at the same time made it difficult to get the shots how I would ideally like them. One day I will go back there and spend more time at one spot so that I can ensure that I get the shots I want. It was a very worthwhile exercise going on the tour though because I learned where to look and what to look for which is more than half of the battle when it comes to bird photography.
