The last couple of days have been quite windy, and while the garden survived the big storm last week, there is a bit of damage happening now.  Some of the older branches on the ponga trees have snapped in half and they are looking a little worse for wear.  We seem to only get one new set of fronds a year from them and usually in Spring time, so pretty soon I can see the waxeyes struggling to find nice looking perches. Not that the birds give a damn about their perches but for the photos to look good I prefer them to be perching on healthy looking branches. Fingers crossed enough of the branches survive these winds.
