Kea

The Kea is a very inquisitive bird and because of this can also be very destructive. When I saw these birds in the wild they were happily walking over cars in a carpark pecking at the rubber surrounding the windows.  These images are from some captive kea at a local wildlife park and they are no better than their wild counterparts.

I have had my shoe laces pulled, my camera bag pecked at and a whole put in a jacket where a kea decided it would be fun to play with the zipper.  Regardless of their antics they are beautiful birds, native to New Zealand and make awesome images.  I keep going back to visit them and every time I get a different set of images.
