IMG_2998-blogA street away from my son’s house is a park that meanders throughout the neighbourhood and has an abundance of bird life within. We could hear the birds from the house and while it seemed like they were right outside the window they were usually quite some distance away.  The rainbow lorikeets were one of the louder calls that we heard and when we went walking in the park it was easy to spot them high up in the foliage, but difficult to photograph them.  We also saw plenty of lorikeets at Lone Pine Koala Park where they feed them on a regular basis so they hang around in large numbers for the free food.  These images were shot at one of the feeding stations.
