The gannets at Cape Kidnappers are well on their well to increasing their numbers for another year. I visited them two weeks ago to see if there were any eggs about and I wasn’t disappointed. According to the guide/bus driver they lay in a staggered pattern, so there were still many nest building and mating, while others had been sitting on eggs for a couple of weeks already. Here are a selection of images from this trip. I will be making another trip up soon to hopefully see some young chicks – they first of which hatched just the other day according to Gannet Overland Safaris. Enjoy!
