It has been almost a year since I have spent any serious time with the kingfishers. I sort of lost interest with them for a bit, mainly because I couldn’t see myself improving at all and it was frustrating me. However since I had never taken the 7D MkII out there I thought I would give them another try – the weather was perfect and it was too good an opportunity to miss.
Usually May/June is the best time to see lots of kingfishers but they must have had a bumper breeding season this year, the numbers are already way up there. If this is an indication of what the winter months are going to be like then I know I am going back there and doing it often!
