Lest we forget

ANZAC day celebrations have been happening all around us and it is great to see that there are as many young people at the parades as there are old. We haven’t forgotten and if today’s celebrations are anything to go by we never will.

I never knew my grandfather on the Finn side, but according to records he served in WW1 as did his father as several of his uncles.  There are six Finn’s listed from my family tree as having served in WW1.

This morning’s weather was perfect for visiting the kingfishers – so of course I did. There was an incoming tide and the kingfishers were out in force, so I set myself up in my usual place and had some more fun with the new Sigma lens.

I am still waiting for my gimbal tripod head to arrive in the mail but I coped – however I think I will wait until it arrives before I take the big lens out again.

I am once again really happy with the results.  The images have been cropped but not hugely and all could be printed to a reasonable size canvas.  Picking which ones to print is going to be the hard part, what you see here is just a small selection of the images from the day’s shoot.
