I have a big lens but I still want to get in closer to those elusive birds that are so skittish they move away once you get close to them. So I bought myself a new toy. It’s a Sigma 1.4x DG tele converter and wouldn’t you know it, the weather has packed in and I can’t take it to the beach to try out. Instead I have gone back to my practice birds and shot through the doorway so I can stay warm and dry while getting in some practice on manual focusing. With the tele converter the auto focus function on the camera is disabled so I need to learn to focus fast manually. Practice makes perfect 🙂
