When I go out with the intention of photographing kingfishers, I usually bank on being there for around two hours. After that I have usually had enough and I am sure the kingfishers have gotten bored of my being there also. Last year they didn’t seem to bother about me but this years birds are a little more wary of change. I just need to be there often so the change is the norm, not an unexpected event. I saw three kingfishers about yesterday but only one of them came close enough for me to get a clear shot of and even then it wasn’t for very long. I gave up in the end and headed out looking for damselflies.
