I am on the organising committee for the 2014 PSNZ Central Regional Convention to be held on November 7-9th at Silverstream . This is an event where photographers from all over the Central Region, (and some from outside the region as well), all come together for a weekend of workshops and fun. Hutt Camera Club took up the challenge to run the event again having done so successfully back in 2009, and this time they hope to make it even better! Experience helps, as does the amount of people who have put their hand up to help. The theme for the Convention is “Focus On Fun” and fun is exactly what we plan to have. Our workshops include Macro Photography Exposed, Retro Pin-Up Photography, Visual Creativity and Design, Natural Light Portraiture and Driving Your Camera for Wildlife Photography. We have some great field trips planned that will provide many exciting photographic opportunities, and there will also be an exhibition of projected images and printed entered into the Salons and Interclub Competitions. The exhibition will be open to public viewing for some of the time. It is shaping up to being a great event and I hope that all those with an interest in photography will think about joining us for the weekend. Registrations will open later in the year with discounts for the early birds!
