While I was watching the gannets at Muriwai I noticed one that was a different colour. I was slightly confused because I had read that when the gannet chicks first fly, they continue out to sea and off to Australia in their first flight, so I knew it wasn’t a young gannet.
I photographed it as best I could but I was still learning the settings at this point and didn’t have them quite right. When I had them worked out of course the bird was gone.
So these images are more for record purposes than anything else because the Brown Booby is a new bird to my list.
