A friend and I went in search of the terns yesterday and found that they had left the spots of the previous day and other than at an old wharf, were no where to be seen. Instead we found a reef heron. 
It was incredibly shy of the camera and did its best to hide behind the rocks out of sight. 
If I moved to get a view of it again (and I wasn’t that close) it would wander in the opposite direction.
In the end it walked to the top of a rock and flew off. Game over dude!
