Last Saturday saw us in Napier at the wedding of a couple of friends. It was a very relaxed wedding held in the botanical gardens and I had offered to take some of the wedding photos for them. I was worried that my lack of mobility was going to be a problem but there were lots of others with cameras there so I don’t think they are going to be lacking in images.
When we were doing the family groups and formals, there were bellbirds flying about in the trees above us – really close. They seemed to care not that there were a bunch of rowdy people in their garden and if I had my big lens with me I would have had so many awesome opportunities. Alas I was focused on the happy couple and decided to come back the next morning for the bellbirds.
Of course the bellbirds got the memo and the next morning there wasn’t a single one to be seen anywhere. I did find a couple of fantail chicks and they will be featuring in another post but what caught my attention the most was the flowers. I am not really a flower person photographically but I am really happy with how these turned out.
