The menu changed a little today with less skinks and more variety. The chicks were fed a skink just as I arrived at the nest site but after that it was cicadas and a stick insect that I saw flown in. 
The stick insect provided some issues for the kingfisher and it took two tries to actually get it into the nest. I suspect it was still alive and clinging to the doorway. 
Regardless its fight was futile and it did become a meal for the chicks. 
I am looking for the next challenge now 🙂
