A Walk Around Zealandia
I went for a walk around Zealandia with a couple of photography friends.
On our return we found a noisy kākā youngster demanding to be fed. Its squarking didn’t do any good, other than to scare off any of the other kākā around it.
A few years ago I heard about a special kākā at Zealandia. Named Pinky-B by her monitors, she had different colouring to the rest of the kākā in the valley with the exception of her daughter who also sported the pretty pinky red feathers.
It is hard to walk around the Zealandia Ecosanctuary and not take a photo. It is not always the birds that grab my attention either…
Kaka are the clowns of the forest and today I saw why. They don’t care if they are upright or upside down, as they move through the tree tops.
